Educational Freedom Accounts are grants of a child's state education funds that can be used to pay for non-public education experiences. They are an amazing way to opt out of public education. They were passed in 2021 with SB130.

This bill establishes the education freedom account program which permits the treasurer to transfer adequate education grants, plus any differentiated aid that would have been provided to a public school, to a scholarship organization for disbursement to parents to be used for certain educational purposes.

A simple way to think about it is that the state portion of money that normally goes to the public school instead "follows the student"; meaning that it goes to the parents if they choose other educational options. This is a great way to incentivize education alternatives, and if you have kids it might be a program you want to take advantage of.
