Car insurance laws across the United States. Only NH requires only financial responsibility, all other states require some form of insurance.

NH does not require drivers to have insurance on their vehicles. If an uninsured motorist is involved in an accident, their license may be suspended. They are responsible for providing restitution for damages that they are responsible for.

Insurance Minimums

Despite not having an obligation to purchase car insurance, car insurance in NH must meet the following criteria:

  • $25,000 for bodily injury, per person.
  • $50,000 for bodily injury, if multiple people are injured in an accident.
  • $25,000 for property damage.
  • Must include uninsured motorist coverage to help cover your injuries and damage to your property that may result from being in an accident with an uninsured driver.
